LACFLA'S MISSION
The Los Angeles Collaborative Family Law Association is an open, interdisciplinary organization dedicated to the collaborative law process for resolving family conflict, through training for professionals and education for families.
LACFLA is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 corporation offering continuous education and support for success with non-adversarial resolutions using the collaborative law process. LACFLA guides and supports collaborative practice in Los Angeles County and coordinates with regional, state and international collaborative practice organizations.
LACFLA carries out its mission with many projects and initiatives, including:
1.Sponsors Sandcastles Workshops--Help Your Kids Cope With Divorce (for parents and children)
2. Speaker presentations for community groups: “Your Alternatives To An Ugly Divorce”; "Help Your Child Cope With Divorce the Sandcastles Way"
3. Annual training conference for professionals
4. Monthly educational sessions for professionals
5. Los Angeles Superior Court Local Rule 14.26 re Collaborative Law cases
6. Developing countywide standardized Participation Agreement and protocols for practice
7. Coordinates with Los Angeles Superior Court Judiciary
8. Participates in developing California State laws shaping collaborative practice
9. Participates in developing national Model Statute for collaborative practice
10. Publishes a newsletter and website about collaborative law
